Flat Roof Conservatory Replacement in Blackpool
Four Seasons Roof Systems recently undertook a project on the Fylde Coast to replace a flat conservatory roof.
As you can see from the photographs included, the old roof was past its best and not exactly eco-friendly. Many old conservatory roofs don’t retain the heat and are not sufficiently resistant to extreme changes in temperature. As a result, the existing Perspex roof was efficiently, and effectively removed and new GRP fibre glass was fitted. GRP (glass reinforced plastic) is a composite of tough resilient, durable plastic resin, and strong glass fibres.
The resin is a thick, treacly substance which when activated by an appropriate catalyst, sets to a hard but brittle solid. In comparison to traditional felt and bitumen based roofing solutions it lasts at least 3 times longer than asphalt or felt. It is therefore ideal when used on flat roofs. It’s highly secure, highly durable, corrosion free and maintenance free.
In order to complete the roof conversion, the roof was fully insulated with 100mm king span and breathable multi foil insulation. In addition, new upvc fascia and guttering was also installed. Inside the conservatory fire rated spot lights were supplied and fitted in the ceiling and finally the ceiling was plastered
