New Bedroom and En-suite Created from Garage Conversion!
A garage conversion is a fantastic way to gain more liveable space and maximise the room that you have in your home. All too often the garage turns into a large storage cupboard where everything gets thrown in. However, with a bit of thought and effort it can be transformed into a warm inviting room and completely change the way you live in your home.
Whether it’s for an extra bedroom, a new kitchen, dining room or lounge, if you need more space but don’t want to move house, a garage conversion can be a great option. It also involves less disruption than moving to a new house or having an extension!
Our clients in Poulton-le-Fylde recognised the benefits of having a garage conversion. They wanted to create more room in their house in order to accommodate family members when they came to visit. As a result, they decided to convert the garage into another bedroom with en-suite.
The garage door was removed, and the area bricked up and a window was installed in the wall. All walls were then water proofed and fully insulated. The ceiling and floor were also insulated and plaster-boarded. The walls were then plastered, and skirting board added.
As the garage was being converted to create two rooms an internal wall with door was fitted. The room at the far end of the garage became the en-suite and this was kitted out with a walk-in shower, radiator and sink with storage unit underneath. The walls were covered from floor to ceiling with grey tiles and grey grout and the ceiling was panelled. All electrics were undertaken and completed including fixtures and fittings and ceiling lights. You can see the original garage and the process we followed to convert it from the photographs included.
