The first part of the process to build the single storey extension in Thornton-Cleveleys involved removing the existing conservatory and clearing the site. We then excavated the area where the extension was going to be built and dug holes and trenches to lay the foundations. Once the foundations were in, we built up the walls and then the roof structure went on. Having removed a load bearing wall, we fitted an RSJ.
Next, we boarded out the roof on the inside and tiled it on the outside also fitting guttering. We installed the windows and skylights. We put in all new electrics, plastered the walls and put in place the bifold door. This is just a brief overview of what was involved in this project. Having the bifold doors made a seamless link between the house and garden and created a bright, airy space with lots of natural light – a great space to relax on the sofa, cook food, or eat a meal!
